ABOUT
Umbra Light Festival Vitoria-Gasteiz is an annually organized light festival held in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz during the shortest days of the year. The festival, which second edition is going to take place in November 2021, was born with the intention of introducing visitors and citizens to light art in the public realm, allowing them to experiment and engage with the latest cultural expressions and technologies. The festival program is centred on the exhibition of visual and digital arts, urban interventions, and new technologies.
Umbra Light Festival displays extends over the historic city centre ("La Almendra") and other relevant zones of the city. It is structured along a route that changes every edition depending on the festival topic and social interesses.
Umbra Light Festival is organized by ARGIA 3 Asociación Cultural, with the support of both public and private institutions and companies. It has a program to support young generation of artist as well as organizing side-events for professionals working in the public space, art students, and light artist and designers. It cooperates with numerous foreign festivals and international agents involved in this field.
